June 6 - Good Morning Cherokee Breakfast. Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce hosts this early morning business breakfast and networking event on the first Thursday of each month.
If you do not have a GMC standing reservation, you must register by 3 PM on the Tuesday prior to the event to receive a printed name tag and advance pricing.
Chamber Member attendees may donate up to two door prizes per company.

June 10-14 and June 17-21 Cherokee County Safety Town Summer Camp. Safety Town is a multi-agency camp for entering kindergarteners, hosted by Safe Kids Cherokee County. Children will learn interactive safety lessons each day to help prepare them for Kindergarten and ride in the miniature town to learn rules of the road.

June 12 LunchIN'. Hosted by IN WDSTK, LunchIN' is a quarterly boxed lunch event that includes an interactive learning discussion with a small business subject matter expert on important topics for business leaders.
The topic for this month's LunchIN' is the important facets that impact productivity and workplace dynamics.

June 15 North Georgia Truckfest & Stock Car Racing. Dixie Speedway is hosting its first ever Truckfest that anyone can enter! This event will include Stock Car Racing, Tuff Truck Tug A War, Pick Up Truck Demo Derby, and a Show N Shine contest on the red clay.

June 24-28 and July 8-12 "History Makers" Summer Camp. History Cherokee is hosting their first-ever Summer Camp this year! "History Makers" will be all about getting hands-on and exploring our region's unique history through crafts, activities, exercises, talks, and so much more.
History Makers is designed for rising 3rd through 5th graders. Two identical camp sessions will be held June 24 - 28 and July 8 - 12. Campers will need to provide lunches and water bottles; allergen-friendly snacks will be provided.

This month, we are spotlighting our newest addition to the staff at The Innovation Spot! Michelle Smith came on board as our new Membership Coordinator last November as a trainee, but really began her solo flight at the front desk in the new year.
Nearly all of Michelle's eclectic experiences have landed her in some form of administrative customer service and utilized some synthesis of her gifts: writing, graphic design, verbal communications, teaching, and service to others.
The accomplishment of which she is most proud is the homeschooling of her and her husband's three boys from start to finish. Twenty years (plus!) of pouring life and soul into their education, hearts, and minds was a ride she would not trade for the world.
Since their graduations (and hers), she gets to employ and hone her administrative skills on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week at The Innovation Spot. Her responsibilities include everything from office plant caretaker to scheduler, organizer, tour leader, and resident coffee barista. She has also recently been commissioned as a Notary Public for the State of Georgia.
Outside the office, she loves antique books, bright sunshine, and meeting new people. In the office, she enjoys accommodating our customers and members, problem solving, and making people smile. Her personal goal every day is to make each person's day just a little better than it was.
